WHEN STUDENTS STAND UP, WE STAND WITH THEM
The Student Activist Support Center (SASC) advances the protection and resilience of student activists operating in contexts of heightened risk, grounded in international protection principles and a rights-based approach.
We strengthen individual and collective security capacities through risk assessment, preventative protection planning, rapid response coordination, and access to legal and psychosocial support pathways.
Who We Are
We are a regional non-profit organisation that supports human rights defenders in developing their security and protection management strategies in Southern Africa. Since 2024, the Student Activist Support Center (SASC) has been working with local partners across the region. We understand that student human rights defenders are subjects of rights, instead of objects for protection.
What We Do
We support student activists through comprehensive protection programmes, using a preventative, collective, psychosocial, gender-sensitive and intersectional approach.
